This is not a happy happy yippee yippee God is good and here’s the combination for your life-to-be-great book. Notice the part in the title that says, “Why can life be so difficult?” As such, it is not my goal to reinforce naïveté and build false hope. Rather, it is to build wisdom and true hope founded in Jesus who explained to His disciples, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). If this is true, it is only when we are false hopeless that we can place our true hope in Him.
Some difficulties in life are unavoidable and are inflicted on us through the free will that God gives others and ourselves. That acknowledged, there are also many difficulties that can be avoided with wisdom and a similar exercise of our free will. Since we are on this journey through life together, when it comes to the difficulties we encounter, God wants us to praise Him, have peace in His Son Jesus, become wise, and teach others to do the same. This book is my effort to help you and me take a faithful step in that direction.
